Welcome to Shuloban — a social impact–driven e-commerce platform rooted in the Sundarbans, Bangladesh, committed to empowering marginalized women, preserving cultural heritage, and delivering ethically sourced products to customers across Bangladesh and beyond.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of www.shuloban.com, including all purchases, account registrations, content interactions, and any services offered through our platform.
Please read these Terms carefully before using our website. By accessing or using Shuloban, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age (or accessing with the consent of a parent or guardian), that you have read and understood these Terms, and that you agree to be legally bound by them.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, including but not limited to:

- The Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009 (Bangladesh)
- The Digital Security Act, 2018 (Bangladesh)
- The Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Act, 2006 (Bangladesh)
- The Sale of Goods Act, 1930 (Bangladesh)
- The Value Added Tax and Supplementary Duty Act, 2012 (Bangladesh)
Any dispute arising from the use of our platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Khulna and Dhaka, Bangladesh.
3. Definitions

- “Artisan” — local craftspeople, producers, and community members whose products are listed and sold through Shuloban
- “Non-Profit Wing” — Shuloban’s social initiative focused on education, skill development, and women’s livelihood
4. Account Registration
4.1 Eligibility
To create an account on Shuloban, you must be at least 18 years old or have parental/guardian consent. By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.
4.2 Account Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately at admin@shuloban.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
Shuloban will not be liable for any loss or damage resulting from your failure to protect your account information.
4.3 Account Termination
Shuloban reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account at our sole discretion if we determine that:
- False or misleading information was provided during registration
- The account is being used for fraudulent or abusive purposes
- These Terms have been violated in any way
5. Products & Listings
5.1 Product Accuracy
We make every effort to ensure that product descriptions, images, prices, and availability information displayed on our platform are accurate and up to date. However, Shuloban does not guarantee that all product information is completely error-free.
5.2 Handmade & Natural Products
Many of our products are handmade, handcrafted, or naturally sourced. As a result:
- Slight variations in color, size, texture, or pattern are natural and expected — they are not considered defects
- Natural products such as honey may vary in color, consistency, and taste depending on the season and harvest — this is a sign of authenticity, not poor quality
- Product images are representative and actual products may vary slightly in appearance
5.3 Product Availability
All products are subject to availability. Shuloban reserves the right to limit quantities, discontinue products, or modify listings at any time without prior notice. If a product becomes unavailable after your order is placed, we will notify you promptly and offer a full refund.
5.4 Pricing
All prices displayed on our website are in Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) unless otherwise stated. Prices include applicable taxes where required by law. Shuloban reserves the right to change prices at any time without prior notice. However, the price confirmed at the time of your order will be honored.
6. Orders & Purchases
6.1 Placing an Order
By placing an order on our platform, you are making a binding offer to purchase the selected product(s) at the listed price. An order is only confirmed once you receive an Order Confirmation notification from Shuloban via email or SMS.
6.2 Order Acceptance
Shuloban reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order at its sole discretion, including but not limited to situations where:
- The product is out of stock or unavailable
- Payment verification fails or is incomplete
- Fraudulent or suspicious activity is detected
- An error exists in the product listing or pricing
If your order is cancelled by Shuloban, you will receive a full refund within 7 business days.
6.3 Order Modifications
Once an order has been placed and confirmed, modifications cannot be guaranteed. Please contact us immediately at admin@shuloban.com if you need to make changes. We will do our best to accommodate requests before dispatch.
6.4 Bulk & Wholesale Orders
For bulk or wholesale inquiries, please contact our team directly at admin@shuloban.com. Bulk orders are subject to separate pricing, delivery timelines, and terms agreed upon in writing.
7. Payment Terms
7.1 Accepted Payment Methods
Shuloban accepts the following payment methods:
Mobile Banking (MFS): bKash | Nagad | Rocket | Upay
Direct Bank Transfer: Dutch Bangla Bank (DBBL) | Exim Bank | Agrani Bank | Bangladesh Krishi Bank | Prime Bank
Cash on Delivery (COD): Available for eligible delivery areas within Bangladesh
7.2 Payment Security
All payments are processed securely. Shuloban does not store your full banking credentials, card numbers, or mobile banking PINs on our servers. Payment confirmations are verified through transaction IDs provided by the respective payment provider.
7.3 Payment Verification
For bank transfer and mobile banking payments, your order will only be processed after successful payment verification. You are required to share your Transaction ID with our team after making the payment. Failure to do so may result in delays in order processing.
7.4 Failed Payments
If your payment fails or is not verified within 24 hours of order placement, your order may be automatically cancelled. You will be notified and invited to place a new order.
7.5 Cash on Delivery
COD orders are subject to availability in your delivery area. Shuloban reserves the right to withdraw COD as a payment option for specific products, locations, or customers at any time. Please have the exact order amount ready at the time of delivery.
8. Delivery & Shipping
8.1 Delivery Areas
Shuloban currently delivers across Bangladesh. Delivery availability and timelines may vary depending on your location. We will notify you if delivery to your area is not possible.
8.2 Delivery Timeline
Estimated delivery timelines are provided at checkout and in your order confirmation. These are estimates only and may be affected by factors beyond our control including weather conditions, public holidays, or logistical delays. Shuloban is not liable for delays caused by third-party delivery partners.
8.3 Delivery Responsibility
Risk of loss and ownership of products passes to you upon successful delivery to your provided address. If you are unavailable at the time of delivery, our delivery partner will attempt redelivery or contact you to arrange an alternative.
8.4 Incorrect Address
Shuloban is not responsible for failed or delayed deliveries resulting from an incorrect or incomplete delivery address provided by the customer. Additional delivery charges may apply for re-delivery attempts.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1 Shuloban Content
All content on our website — including but not limited to text, product descriptions, photographs, graphics, logos, icons, the Shuloban brand name, slogan (“From Heritage to Empowerment”), and the “Rooted Stories” section — is the exclusive intellectual property of Shuloban and is protected under applicable Bangladeshi and international intellectual property laws.
9.2 Prohibited Use
You may not, without prior written permission from Shuloban:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, or republish any content from our website
- Use our brand name, logo, or slogan for commercial purposes
- Modify or create derivative works based on our content
- Scrape, crawl, or extract data from our website using automated tools
9.3 Artisan & Community Content
Stories, photographs, and profiles of our artisans and community members are shared with their consent and remain their personal property. Unauthorized use of artisan content is strictly prohibited and may constitute a violation of privacy and intellectual property rights.
9.4 User-Generated Content
By submitting reviews, comments, photographs, or any other content on our platform, you grant Shuloban a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and share that content for business and promotional purposes. You confirm that any content you submit is your own and does not infringe the rights of any third party.
10. User Conduct
By using our platform, you agree that you will not:
- Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information during registration, ordering, or communication
- Use our platform for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of our website or systems

15. Non-Profit Wing & Donations
15.1 Donation Use
All donations made through Shuloban’s non-profit wing are used to support women’s education, skill development, and livelihood programs in collaboration with Humanity Public Library and Youth Climate Network. Donations are non-refundable once processed.
15.2 Impact Reporting
Shuloban is committed to transparency in its social impact. We publish program updates and impact highlights on our website and social media platforms. Donors may request impact updates by contacting admin@shuloban.com.
15.3 No Tax Benefit Guarantee
Shuloban does not currently guarantee tax exemption benefits for donations unless specifically confirmed in writing. Donors are advised to consult their own tax advisors.
