Rooted in the Sundarbans.
Built by Women.
Shuloban is a social enterprise and green e-commerce platform empowering marginalized women artisans across Bangladesh — turning heritage craftsmanship into dignified livelihoods, and every purchase into measurable change.
A name borrowed from the Sundarbans. A mission built for its people.
"Shuloban" comes from a local term for the Sundarbans — the world's largest mangrove forest — and reflects a deep connection to nature, resilience, heritage, and rural life. From these roots, Shuloban bridges the gap between talented rural artisans and conscious consumers, ensuring every purchase contributes to meaningful change.
From intricately woven Nakshi Katha to wild-harvested mangrove honey, every item carries a story of skill, patience, and cultural heritage. We believe in fair trade, sustainability, and community empowerment — not as slogans, but as the operating model.
"This Nakshi Katha was made by Rahima Begum from Dacope, Sundarbans. She worked four days to create this piece." — This is how every Shuloban product is told.
- ✓ Directly funding women's livelihoods, with no middlemen.
- ✓ Supporting children's education through the Humanity Public Library.
- ✓ Preserving rich cultural traditions across coastal Bangladesh.
"Rooted in tradition, committed to empowerment, expanding social impact across Bangladesh."
What makes this different from a typical marketplace
Founder-Led, Community-Focused
Led from the coastal villages of Khulna, connecting marginalized women and artisans through heritage, culture, and craftsmanship.
Storytelling as Core Branding
Behind every product is a life, a name, and the hours of skill it took to make — told, not hidden.
Training & Education Embedded
Skill-building for women and education support for their families run alongside every sale, strengthening long-term impact.
Sustainable & Scalable
Local materials, renewable energy initiatives, and a model built to expand beyond the Sundarbans nationwide.
"Shuloban is living proof that social entrepreneurship rooted in culture and sustainability can uplift communities, strengthen local economies, and build a more equitable and resilient Bangladesh."
Rooted in the Sundarbans, our platform combines heritage, sustainability, and social entrepreneurship to create real impact. Through the Shuloban Non-Profit Wing, we work with partners like Humanity Public Library to support children, women, and families in climate-vulnerable communities — because every product purchased contributes directly to a woman earning with dignity and a child accessing education.
Empowerment through commerce.
To create an inclusive, ethical, impact-driven e-commerce ecosystem that empowers marginalized, climate-vulnerable, and indigenous communities across Bangladesh — especially women — connecting heritage craftsmanship to fair, accessible markets where every product sold generates meaningful social and economic impact.
A Bangladesh that thrives on heritage.
A resilient, inclusive Bangladesh where women from marginalized and climate-vulnerable communities lead sustainable local economies, preserve cultural heritage, and access global opportunities with dignity — where tradition transforms into opportunity, and commerce fuels lasting impact.
